Near and long-term targets
Both Barratt Developments and Redrow had science-based net zero targets validated in 2024, targeting 2040 and 2045 respectively. This shared progress and alignment provides a strong foundation for our future unified transition plan.
Delivering a resilient and future-proofed net zero strategy requires both immediate action and long-term commitment. The targets below are in relation to Barratt Developments and Redrow separately, and will be updated to reflect our combined Barratt Redrow commitments in due course.
Origins of our emissions (Barratt Developments)
Understanding where our emissions come from is essential for targeted decarbonisation efforts. Less than 1% of the Group’s emissions are produced as a result of our direct operational activities. The remaining (99%) comes from the transformation of raw materials into products, transport to sites, site preparation and groundworks, and the emissions arising from energy use of the homes we build over their lifetime.

The preliminary combined footprint for the Group is compared to the previously agreed target trajectories of 2040 and 2045*. It is currently aligned to the trajectories for Barratt Developments and Redrow. We are now combining emissions for Barratt Redrow and will create new targets aligned with the detailed SBTi requirements.
