Stanneylands, Wilmslow

A nature-rich, low-density community designed to create a strong sense of place, where people and wildlife can thrive together.

Stanneylands is a thoughtfully planned residential development by David Wilson Homes, delivering high-quality, energy efficient homes within a mature woodland and meadow landscape. The scheme provides:

  • 174 energy-efficient homes, ranging from one to five bedrooms
  • A diverse mix of tenures, with around 30% affordable housing
  • Affordable homes indistinguishable in quality and specification from open market homes
  • A lower-density layout, creating generous spacing, privacy and a sense of openness
  • Homes in an area where average house prices are twice the national average, widening access to home ownership

David Wilson Homes worked in partnership with specialist ecology consultants and the RSPB to ensure biodiversity was protected and enhanced throughout, resulting in:

  • Almost nine hectares of green space
  • Retained mature trees, hedgerows and woodland
  • A 10-metre wildlife buffer to support safe movement of species such as badgers
  • Wildlife corridors, retained ponds and species rich grassland
  • Bat and bird boxes and dedicated habitats for local wildlife, including water voles

As part of its commitment to building sustainable communities, DWH has invested over £1.3 million in local infrastructure, including:

  • Education contributions for secondary and SEN provision
  • Health and transport services
  • Indoor and outdoor recreation facilities
  • Support for both new and existing residents

Stanneylands demonstrates how sensitive design, ecological collaboration and long-term investment can deliver a high-quality place that supports wellbeing, inclusivity and nature recovery.
