Barratt Redrow hailed for climate leadership by CDP benchmark
27/02/2026 Awards Corporate Colleagues
We have once again been recognised as a climate leader by the global sustainability benchmark CDP*, achieving a top‑tier A rating.
This marks the fourth consecutive year we have achieved an A for our climate disclosure, reinforcing our leadership position in this important area.
Based on data reported through CDP’s 2025 climate change questionnaire, we are one of only 751 companies worldwide to receive an ‘A’ - out of more than 22,000 companies rated. This places us among the top 4% of companies globally for environmental disclosure. We are also one of only three UK construction companies to achieve an ‘A’ for climate.
The CDP score provides a snapshot of a company’s environmental disclosure and performance, with scores ranging from A to D based on the comprehensiveness of disclosure, governance, awareness and management of environmental risks, and demonstration of best practices. For climate, the European regional average was B and the global construction sector average was C.
In addition to our climate leadership, we have also been recognised for our water and timber risk management. Our forests and water disclosures each received a Management ‘B’ grade.
Our purpose is to make sustainable living a reality, building strong communities. We will soon begin work on the UK’s largest net zero carbon housing development, Cosmeston Farm, in the Vale of Glamorgan. In London, we are creating Passivhaus‑standard ‘Low‑E’ homes, setting the benchmark for future sustainable homebuilding at scale.
We were the first national housebuilder to set science‑based carbon emission targets, which are currently being updated with the Science Based Targets Initiative following the combination of Barratt and Redrow in 2024. In addition, all the homes we build will be zero carbon in use from 2030 (subject to Future Homes Standard implementation and grid decarbonisation).
Commenting on our climate ‘A’ score, Bukky Bird, Group Sustainability Director at Barratt Redrow, said:
“Achieving an A rating from CDP for our climate disclosure for the fourth consecutive year is a significant achievement for our business and a strong endorsement of the progress we are making. It reflects the strength of our governance, the quality of our climate data, and the tangible actions we are taking to reduce emissions across our operations and supply chain. We are proud of this recognition and are committed to driving further action.”
CDP is an international non-governmental organisation that encourages companies to measure and disclose their environmental information. It holds the largest environmental database in the world, and its scores are widely used by investors and procurement teams to drive decisions that support a zero‑carbon, sustainable and resilient economy. CDP is also a founding member of the Science Based Targets Initiative.
The scores for the 2025 submission were the result of a single Barratt Developments plc disclosure, with no submission for Redrow plc; the first combined disclosure will take place in September 2026.
