SECOND MAJOR AWARD WIN FOR BARRATT DEVELOPMENTS

Barratt Developments has won the coveted Housebuilder of the Year prize at this year’s WhatHouse? Awards. The country’s largest housebuilder won the top award after scooping gold in the Best Large Housebuilder category and silver in the Best Public Realm category.

This is the second major award win in less than four weeks for Barratt, following its success at the Housebuilder magazine awards, where it was crowned Best Large Housebuilder of the Year. This follows earlier in the year Barratt being awarded 5 stars in the HBF customer satisfaction survey for the 10th year in a row, and its site managers receiving more NHBC Pride in the Job Quality awards than any other housebuilder for the 15th consecutive year.

Considered the 'Oscars' of the UK housebuilding industry, the WhatHouse? Awards highlight the achievements of the new homes industry and celebrate the very best new schemes. The ceremony was hosted at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London, by astronaut Major Tim Peake alongside comedian and television presenter, Dara O’Briain.

David Thomas, chief executive of Barratt Developments plc, said: “To win Best Large Housebuilder and Housebuilder of the Year is a great achievement which reflects the hard work and dedication of everyone in our business. It underlines the high standards that our teams deliver day-in and day-out, and supports our vision to lead the future of housebuilding by putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

“We are very proud to be the only major national housebuilder to be rated as 5 star by our customers for 10 years in a row, and these awards recognise the high quality of the homes that we build, and our commitment to customer satisfaction. By embracing new methods of construction, focussing on great design and building communities that people enjoy living in, we want to continue to lead the industry.”
