BARRATT CELEBRATES 10 YEARS AS NUMBER 1 FOR BUILD QUALITY
Site Managers working for Barratt Group have won 90 awards for quality workmanship, in the 2014 NHBC Pride in the Job Awards.
This is the tenth year in a row that the Group’s site managers – in charge of Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes’ developments around Britain – have picked up more awards than any other housebuilder
The Pride in the Job Awards are the most coveted in the industry. They are awarded after the construction standard setting body NHBC (National House-Building Council) carries out a series of spot check site inspections to select the best-organised and best-quality developments.
Steven Boyes, Chief Operating Officer Barratt Developments, said: “Site managers play a pivotal role across our business. It’s a great achievement for our team, to win more quality awards than any other housebuilder, 10 years in a row. We feel this win further demonstrates our dedication and commitment to building new homes of the very highest standard.”
Mike Quinton, Chief Executive of NHBC, said: "For nearly 35 years, Pride in the Job has been a fundamental component of NHBC's work to raise standards through the celebration and sharing of best practice. Our winners are at the forefront of the house-building recovery, making sure that quality is maintained and improved year on year, as they raise the bar for success in the
competition.”
More than 15,000 site managers throughout the UK were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety. Around 400 in total won Quality Awards this year.
