Manage your shareholding

Shareview Dealing allows you to buy and sell shares in Barratt Developments PLC for a one-off fee. This applies to all companies for which Equiniti maintain the share register. You can access real time pricing on your shares and then choose to buy, sell or hold.

There's no need to pre-register and there are no complicated forms to fill in. The online and telephone dealing services allow you to trade "real time" at a known price which will be given to you at the time you give your instruction.

Please have your share certificate and NI number available to place your trade. The share certificate will need to be in your name.

For further information on this service, or to buy and sell shares, please log onto www.shareview.co.uk (online dealing) and head to the Share Dealing section for help.

To place a trade by phone, please call 03456 037 037 between 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

This is not a recommendation to buy or sell shares. The price of shares can go down as well as up, and you are not guaranteed to get back the amount that you originally invested.

Shareview is part of Equiniti Group that is fully authorised and regulated by the FCA.

In most cases there is a charge to replace share certificates so we advise that you ensure you have looked thoroughly before requesting a new one.
Click here for further information on requesting new certificates and the associated fees.

If you are administering an estate, you may need to transfer shares into the names of beneficiaries or sell the holding. The first step is to contact Equiniti telling them what you are going to do. They will then place a temporary marker on the register to ensure that wherever possible, they do not issue further dividend payments or other correspondence in the shareholder's name. They will also send you the forms that you will need to complete.

Please contact Equiniti on 0371 384 2657 (if calling from overseas +44 371 384 2657). Lines are open 8:30am to 5:30pm (UK time), Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays in England and Wales).

The FCA has issued a warning to all shareholders in respect of unsolicited phone calls or correspondence concerning investment matters.

WARNING TO SHAREHOLDERS - BOILER ROOM SCAMS

Over the last year, many companies have become aware that their shareholders have received unsolicited phone calls or correspondence concerning investment matters. These are typically from overseas based 'brokers' who target UK shareholders, offering to sell them what often turn out to be worthless or high risk shares in US or UK investments. These operations are commonly known as 'boiler rooms'. These 'brokers' can be very persistent and extremely persuasive, and a 2006 survey by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) has reported that the average amount lost by investors is around £20,000.

It is not just the novice investor that has been duped in this way; many of the victims had been successfully investing for several years. Shareholders are advised to be very wary of any unsolicited advice, offers to buy shares at a discount or offers of free company reports. If you receive any unsolicited investment advice:

If you deal with an unauthorised firm, you will not be eligible to receive payment under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. The FCA can be contacted by completing an online form at http://www.fca.org.uk/consumers/scams/investment-scams/share-fraud-and-boiler-room-scams/reporting-form

Details of any share dealing facilities that the company endorses will be included in company mailings.

More detailed information on this or similar activity can be found on the FCA website http://www.fca.org.uk/
