Barratt proud to be named Large Housebuilder of the Year

Barratt Developments won the main prize at the Housebuilder magazine awards last night by receiving the Large Housebuilder of the Year award. There was further success with Barratt North Midlands also winning the best community initiative award.

The Housebuilder awards recognise the very best in housebuilding each year and the new wins for Barratt underline why it is the country’s largest and most successful housebuilder. Barratt leads the industry with its quality and customer service, whilst also building more of the homes that the country needs.

This year Barratt received more NHBC Pride in the Job awards than any other housebuilder for the 15th year in a row, and became the only major national housebuilder to ever receive 5 stars for customer satisfaction for 10 years in a row. It also delivered 17,856 new homes, its highest number of completions for 11 years.

Barratt also won the best community initiative award for its thoughtful and thorough Bingham Street naming for Armistice event, where it named the new streets of its Romans’ Quarter scheme after local soldiers who sacrificed their lives in World War One. There were two further nominations for Barratt on the night, one in the regeneration category and one in the design – four storeys or more category.

All of the awards were given out by host Dara Ó Briain at a ceremony at The InterContinental Hotel – The O2 in London, in front of more than 600 guests.

Steven Boyes, Chief Operating Officer at Barratt Developments plc, said: “The awards are testament to our vision, putting the customer at the heart of everything we do. We are delighted to be recognised as Housebuilder of the Year and will continue to try to lead the industry going forward, building more high quality homes, embracing new methods of construction and working as hard as we can for our customers.”
